Award Policy

This Award Policy outlines the rules and criteria for the YourStoryFest video contest awards. By participating in the contest, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

I. Award Categories:

YourStoryFest will present awards in the following categories:

1. Media Champion Awards: These awards recognize the most popular videos on each participating social media platform. One award will be given for each platform: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter).

2. Wild Card Awards: These awards celebrate videos that demonstrate exceptional creativity, innovation, and originality. Two Wild Card awards will be presented.

3. Storyteller Grand Prix: This prestigious award recognizes the video that tells the most compelling and engaging story, demonstrating exceptional narrative skill and impact.

II. Eligibility:

• All videos submitted to the YourStoryFest contest are eligible for awards, provided they comply with the YourStoryFest Content Policy.

• Videos must be submitted through the official YourStoryFest website or designated submission platform.

• Creators may submit multiple videos, but each video will be considered individually for awards.

 

 

 

III. Judging Process:

1. Media Champion Awards: Winners will be determined by public voting on each respective social media platform. The video with the most likes, shares, comments, or other engagement metrics (as determined by YourStoryFest) on each platform will win the corresponding Media Champion Award. Voting details and timelines will be announced on the YourStoryFest website and social media channels.

2. Wild Card Awards: Winners will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by YourStoryFest. The judges will evaluate videos based on creativity, innovation, originality, and overall impact.

3. Storyteller Grand Prix: The winner will be selected by the same panel of judges who evaluate the Wild Card entries. The judges will focus on narrative structure, storytelling technique, emotional impact, and overall engagement.

 

 

 

IV. Award Criteria:

1. Media Champion Awards: Engagement metrics on the respective platform will be the primary factor in determining the winner. YourStoryFest reserves the right to adjust the weighting of different engagement metrics.

2. Wild Card Awards:

   • Creativity: Originality of concept and approach.

   • Innovation: Use of new techniques or technologies.

   • Originality: Uniqueness and distinctiveness of the video.

   • Overall Impact: The video's overall impression and effectiveness.

3. Storyteller Grand Prix:

   • Narrative Structure: How well the story is organized and paced.

   • Storytelling Technique: Effective use of visual storytelling, dialogue (if applicable), and other narrative elements.

   • Emotional Impact: The video's ability to evoke emotions in the viewer.

   • Overall Engagement: The video's ability to captivate and hold the viewer's attention.

 

 

 

V. Prizes:

• Media Champion Awards: $100 USD per platform (four awards total).

• Wild Card Awards: $150 USD per award (two awards total).

• Storyteller Grand Prix: $600 USD.

 

 

 

VI. Winner Notification and Prize Distribution:

• Winners will be notified via email and/or social media within 14 days of the contest closing date.

• Winners will be required to provide necessary information for prize distribution.

• Prizes will be distributed within 21 days of winner confirmation.

VII. Winner Response Time:

Winners must respond to the award notification within seven (7) days of the initial contact. If a winner fails to respond within this timeframe, YourStoryFest reserves the right to disqualify the winner and award the prize to the next highest-ranked eligible participant in that category. YourStoryFest will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner using the provided contact information. However, it is the responsibility of the participant to monitor their email and social media accounts for notifications.

 

 

 

VIII. Award Rights and Usage:

• By accepting an award, winners grant YourStoryFest the right to use their video and associated materials for promotional purposes related to YourStoryFest, including but not limited to website display, social media sharing, and marketing materials.

• Winners retain ownership of their videos and may use them for other purposes.

 

 

 

IX. Disqualification:

YourStoryFest reserves the right to disqualify any video that violates the Content Policy or this Award Policy.

 

 

 

X. Changes to this Award Policy:

YourStoryFest reserves the right to modify this Award Policy at its discretion. Any changes will be posted on the YourStoryFest website.
